The records

  • UAP records: the Department of War's Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (war.gov/UFO), with records from the Department of War, AARO, the FBI, NASA, the CIA, the Department of State and others. Every document links to its file on war.gov. Videos are linked to DVIDS, not copied.
  • Mirror: for the earlier releases, files are fetched from the public GitHub mirror by ckpxgfnksd-max (uap-release-01, uap-release-02), a byte-exact copy, so war.gov isn't hit for old files.
  • JFK assassination records: the National Archives (NARA) releases of 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025, and NARA's release manifests. Comparisons use NARA's own PDFs.

Prior work

Comparing JFK releases is not new. jfkdiffs.com and the Mary Ferrell Foundation have compared versions and catalogued these records for years; their work is the reference, and none of their files are used here.

The AI

Pages are read by Claude (Anthropic) through the official API; see how it works and the ledger.

Type and software

Source Serif 4 (Adobe, SIL Open Font License), IBM Plex Mono (IBM, OFL), Geist (Vercel, OFL). PDF.js (Mozilla), pdf-lib, sharp, resvg.

Not affiliated

DECLASSIFIED is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of War, AARO, the National Archives, the FBI, NASA or any agency. Records are U.S. government works.
